Inbox
Connect a shared Gmail account and handle support conversations directly inside Vigdis. Your team can assign, reply, and close conversations without switching to a separate email client.
Connect Gmail
- Go to Settings > Inbox.
- Click Connect Gmail and sign in with the Google account you want to use as your shared mailbox.
- Grant the requested permissions. Vigdis needs access to read and send email on behalf of the connected account.
- Once connected, Vigdis starts syncing existing messages. This may take a moment for the first sync.
Only workspace admins can connect or disconnect a Gmail account. Each workspace supports one shared inbox mailbox.
Triage conversations
The inbox shows a three-panel layout:
- Left panel — Conversation list. Filter by status (open, pending, closed) or assignee.
- Center panel — The full message thread for the selected conversation.
- Right panel — Conversation details: status, assignee, and metadata.
New inbound emails automatically create conversations with open status.
Reply to conversations
Select a conversation and type your reply at the bottom of the message thread. Replies are sent from the connected Gmail account with proper email threading, so the recipient sees a normal email conversation.
Assign and change status
- Assign — Pick a team member from the assignee dropdown in the right panel. Assignees can filter the conversation list to see only their own conversations.
- Status — Move conversations through open, pending, and closed. Use pending for conversations waiting on a response, and closed when resolved.
You can also change status or assignee in bulk by selecting multiple conversations in the list.
Unread tracking
Each team member has their own unread count. Opening a conversation with unread messages automatically marks it as read for you. The sidebar badge shows your total unread count across all open conversations.
