Getting Started

Set up your account, learn the interface, and create your first record in under five minutes.

Create your account

  1. Go to the Vigdis login page and enter your email address.
  2. Set a password for your account, or sign in with a social provider (like Google).
  3. On first login, an onboarding wizard walks you through setting up your profile — enter your first and last name to get started.

Navigate the app

After onboarding, you land on the Dashboard. The interface has three main areas:

  • Sidebar (left) -- Lists fixed pages (Dashboard, Tasks, Notifications, Recycle Bin), your entity types (Contacts, Companies, Deals, and any custom types), and Settings. Each entity type expands to show sub-views like "All Contacts" and "My Contacts", plus any saved views.
  • Workspace switcher (top of the sidebar) -- Click your workspace name to switch between workspaces or create a new one.
  • Dashboard (center) -- Displays quick actions, record counts per entity type, a recent activity feed, and your recently viewed records.

Use the theme toggle at the bottom of the sidebar to switch between light, dark, and system themes.

Create your first record

  1. On the Dashboard, click Create Record in the Quick Actions bar.
  2. Select an entity type from the dropdown (e.g., Contact, Company, Deal).
  3. Fill in the fields on the new record form and save.
  4. The record now appears in the list view for that entity type.

You can also navigate to any entity type in the sidebar and create a record directly from the list view.

Search for anything

Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) to open the command palette. You can also click the Search button in the sidebar.

  • Type at least two characters to search across all entity types.
  • Use the arrow keys to navigate results and Enter to open a record.
  • Press Escape to close the palette.

When no query is entered, the command palette shows your recently viewed records. These are stored locally in your browser.

What's next

  • Records -- Learn how to view, edit, and manage records across entity types.
  • Deal Pipeline -- Set up stages and track deals through your sales process.
  • Fields -- Configure custom fields for your entity types.
  • Roles & Permissions -- Control who can see and do what.
  • Users -- Invite team members and manage access.
