Assistant
Assistant is an optional advanced module. It is available by request for teams that want AI help inside Vigdis, but it is not part of the default free core CRM.
Assistant is built to help with practical CRM work: finding records, shaping views, creating tasks, and preparing changes you can review before they run.
If you do not see Assistant in the sidebar, the AI module is not enabled for your workspace or your role does not have permission to use it.
What Assistant can help with
Assistant understands where you are in the app and can use that context when answering.
Common use cases:
- Find records that match a question, filter, or customer description.
- Build a temporary record view from a prompt.
- Create follow-up tasks from customer context.
- Help configure stats panels and dashboard queries.
- Suggest next steps when a list, record, task page, or dashboard is open.
It is meant to remove small bits of CRM friction. It is not a replacement for judgment, and it should not be treated as an unattended automation system.
Open Assistant
When the module is enabled, open Assistant from the sidebar.
Assistant keeps conversation threads, so you can return to earlier work. The current page context is included when relevant, such as:
- The record list you are viewing.
- The active filters and search query.
- The record detail page you have open.
- The stats view or dashboard you are editing.
- The task or inbox page you are working from.
Review actions before they run
Some Assistant responses are just answers. Others prepare actions.
Actions that change workspace data require review before they execute. For example, Assistant can prepare a task or a record update, but you still approve or reject the action.
Examples of reviewable actions:
- Create a task.
- Update selected records.
- Save a stats panel.
Review generated actions before approving them. Assistant can help prepare work, but you are still responsible for the final change.
Use Assistant with record lists
On a record list, Assistant can help turn natural-language questions into working views.
Examples:
- "Show me open deals over 50,000 sorted by last update."
- "Find contacts with no owner and a phone number."
- "Create a list of companies in Oslo that have active deals."
When Assistant creates a temporary view, you can inspect the filters and detach the result when you are done.
Use Assistant with tasks
Assistant can help draft follow-up tasks from context.
Examples:
- "Create a follow-up task for this deal next Friday."
- "Make a task for the owner to call these selected records."
- "Summarize what needs follow-up from this record."
Use Assistant with stats
Assistant can help build dashboard panels from a question.
Examples:
- "Show deal value by stage."
- "Create a number card for open deals."
- "Show orders by month for this year."
You can preview and adjust the panel before saving it.
Permissions
Workspace admins control who can use Assistant through roles.
The relevant permission is:
- Use Assistant - allows a user to open Assistant and use AI-powered workspace actions.
If a user cannot see Assistant, check both:
- The AI module is enabled for the workspace.
- The user's role includes Use Assistant.
Data and safety notes
Assistant works from the permissions and context available to the signed-in user. It should not give users a shortcut around workspace access rules.
Assistant also blocks destructive custom-field keys such as delete or archive fields in generated record updates. That does not replace review; it is just one guardrail.
Availability
Assistant is available by request while we shape the right packaging. Contact us if you want it enabled for your workspace.
