Terms of service
The boring-but-important stuff
We've tried to make this readable by actual humans. These terms govern your use of Vigdis. By using the service, you agree to them. If something feels off, reach out — we're happy to explain.
Last updated: February 25, 2026

1. What Vigdis is
Vigdis is a customer relationship management (CRM) platform for small and medium-sized teams. We provide the software, you bring your business. We host the service, keep it running, and try to make it better every week.
2. Your account
You need an account to use Vigdis. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, let us know immediately.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Vigdis is a business tool, not a social network for teenagers. (No offence to teenagers — you'll have plenty of CRM in your future.)
3. Your data belongs to you
Everything you put into Vigdis — contacts, companies, deals, notes, files — is yours. We don't claim ownership of your content. We don't use it to train models, sell to third parties, or anything else that would make you uncomfortable.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service. That's the minimum we need to actually run the software. When you delete your data or close your account, that licence ends.
4. What you can export
You can export your data at any time. We'll never lock your contacts behind a paywall or make leaving difficult on purpose. If you want to go, we'll help you pack.
5. Acceptable use
Use Vigdis for legitimate business purposes. Don't use it to:
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages
- Store or distribute illegal content
- Attempt to access other customers' data
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
- Do anything that would make us regret building this
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We'll give you a warning first unless the situation is egregious.
6. Third-party integrations
Vigdis lets you connect third-party accounts like Gmail to bring external data into your workspace. When you connect an account, you're authorising Vigdis to access that service within the scopes you approve (for example, reading your inbox and sending emails on your behalf).
You're responsible for having the authority to connect that account. If it's a company email, make sure your organisation allows it. You can disconnect an integration at any time from your workspace settings, which immediately revokes our access.
We're not responsible for the availability or behaviour of third-party services. If Gmail goes down, your inbox integration goes down with it — that's on Google, not us. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
7. The free period
Vigdis is currently free during our early-access period. When we introduce paid plans, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice. Early adopters get a discounted rate for their first year as a thank-you. You'll never be charged without explicit consent.
If you decide not to continue when paid plans launch, you'll be able to export all your data before your account is closed. No hostage situations.
8. Availability and support
We aim for high uptime but we're honest: we're a small team and things can break. We don't guarantee 99.99% SLAs with penalty clauses. What we do guarantee is that when something goes wrong, we'll fix it as fast as we can and be transparent about what happened.
We provide support via email. We don't have a 24/7 call centre or chatbot that pretends to understand your question. You'll get a real person who actually works on the product.
9. Limitation of liability
This is the part where our lawyer insists we get serious for a moment.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vigdis and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. During the free period, that amount is zero — so please keep your own backups of business-critical data.
We provide the service “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Intellectual property
Vigdis, its name, logo, and the duck are ours. Your data is yours. Neither of us is trying to claim the other's stuff. Simple.
11. Termination
You can close your account at any time. We can terminate your account if you violate these terms, with reasonable notice when possible.
On termination, your right to use the service ends. We'll retain your data for a short grace period (in case you change your mind or need to export), then permanently delete it. See our privacy policy for retention details.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes will be resolved by Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett). That said, we'd always prefer to resolve things with a conversation before it gets to that.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and let you know via email or an in-app notice if the changes are significant. Continued use of Vigdis after changes means you accept the updated terms.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms? Email us at hello@vigdis.app. We won't send you to a legal department because we don't have one.
